Clinton’s moral claim on the nomination

While we await Tuesday’s results, here is one outline of the argument Clinton might make about her “moral claim” on the nomination if she wins Texas and Ohio. The author says he doesn’t have a dog in this fight, but is trying to imagine what case the Clinton campaign might plausibly make. There seem to be a lot of “ifs” — if she wins Texas and Ohio, if superdelegates are willing to look at the popular vote instead of the pledged delegate count, if superdelegates are willing to give primaries more legitimacy than caucuses, if the Clinton campaign can win the spin war, etc.

A taste of arguments we may be hearing more of in the next few weeks, perhaps.

One response to “Clinton’s moral claim on the nomination

  1. I’m not looking forward to the next few weeks. This was fun for a while, but I’ve had enough. Maybe I’ll turn off my wireless until next fall…
