Ralph Nader’s campaign website asks a pertinent question:
So which side are you really on, Ralph? He seemed to give an answer in his Meet the Press announcement interview, when he was discussing Barack Obama:
Senator Obama is a person of substance. He’s also the first liberal evangelist in a long time. He’s run a brilliant tactical campaign. But his better instincts and his knowledge have been censored by himself.
In other words, Nader is on the side of purity in defeat, rather than compromise in victory. Which in practical terms means that he is on the side of the Health Insurance Industry, the Agribusiness Giants, the Corporate Criminals, and the others listed on the dark side of his website. But hey, at least he’ll remain pure, right?
