This shot of Mount Shasta was taken from the car window at 70 mph (left hand on the wheel, right hand on the camera shutter, and eyes — mostly — on the road).
Given the circumstances, I was rather pleased with how the picture turned out.
It’s a little over 14,000 feet. It’s so striking because it’s not surrounded by other high mountains (same with other volcanic peaks in the Cascades like Rainier and St. Helens in Washington, Hood in Oregon, etc.)
